Hotel Chiazza
Walking distance to the main sites
After reading a couple of reviews for Hotel Chiazza Florence, we thought we would make our own minds up. We stayed here for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the hotel and the location for the price.
Our room was comfortable, clean and we were able to see the Duomo from our medium sized window. The breakfast was basic but there were plenty of lovely restaurants and cafes in the area (great for grabbing that much needed coffee and bite to eat for a day of sightseeing).
We arrived quite late at night via taxi where someone was waiting to check us in and show us to our room. The hotel was difficult to find at first as it was on a little side street, in an old building, on the 3rd floor and the sign on the outside was not very clear. It was even more confusing as there is another hotel on the floor below with a similar sign.
Getting there & Location:
It was about 30 minutes by taxi from the airport and about a 15 minute walk from the main train station. The hotel itself was within walking distance to most of the tourist attractions and once we had found our bearings it was easy to get around by foot.
Quick Tip:
There were no lifts and the steps were steep and narrow, I would not recommend it for a disabled traveller or anyone that has trouble going up and down stairs.
Would I Recommended it?
What attracted us about the hotel was it was within walking distance to all the major attractions in Florence, value for money and the staff were friendly and helpful. Personally I would recommend the hotel for a weekend break or if you were just passing through for a couple of days.
Nice review.
Thank-you, I appreciate it a lot
Hotel Chiazza looks like the perfect place to stay in Florence. For me the Duomo in Florence is the prettiest in Italy, so having a room with a view of it is very special. As always in hotels, it’s a bonus to have friendly staff.
It was a great little gem and it was nice been able to walk everywhere.
