Podere Benintendi, a Villa that won’t break the budget Tuscany

It is easy to get caught up in the moment when in Tuscany, especially when listening to  Andrea Bocelli while enjoying a glass of wine and taking in the views. For a second you forget about everything around you and feel relaxed and calm.

Podere Benintendi Tuscany

Situated on a small hill with panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside, Podere Benintendi it is the perfect place for your base while exploring Tuscany and its surrounding areas. Or you can just relax by the outdoor pool and take in what you have read about Tuscany’s beauty.

Tuscany, Italy

About the Room

Our room was bigger than your average hotel room with high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, stone walls, and terracotta floors with views overlooking the Tuscany countryside.

It was decorated in a traditional country style and had air conditioning for the hot Tuscan sun, satellite TV, and access to good wifi. I understand that the 1 and 2-bed apartments had their own kitchenette.

How to get there & Location:

Podere Benintendi is in the perfect location for visiting all the well-known Tuscan places. Central Certaldo is only a 10-minute drive and within a half, an hour drive is San Gimignano, Siena and Chianti Castle “Poppiano”.

You have the option of two international airports if flying. Florence Airport is 48klms away and Pisa Airport is 71klms. It is easy to catch a train or get a transfer from either.

It is well located for walking and cycling in Tuscany’s countryside.

Tips

  • Hire one of the Bikes that the Villa has to rent and take in the Tuscan landscape.
  • Enjoy wines and drinks from the free access cantina by the pool
  • Take a walk around the “podere” along the relaxing paths, small lakes, and lavender plants.

Would I recommend it?

There are a number of factors I take into consideration when recommending a place to stay, from the detail in the room, to weighing up the service and price. I think that Podere Benintendi definitely ticks these boxes for me.

With a lovely breakfast in the morning overlooking the pool and Tuscan scenery, you can see why tourists would want to return to Podere Benintendi. And the best part about it is that it is reasonably priced for anyone.

The good thing was that we had the pool to ourselves most of the time, as we would come back earlier from exploring to enjoy it 🙂 Thanks for your comment

A really great find here and reassuring to know that there are indeed affordable for your average holidaymaker. And fortunately, in an easily accessible location.

    • melbtravel says:

Thanks Gareth, I appreciate your comment. This place even has push bikes for you to get around and an honest policy cellar 🙂

Thanks, I definitely will go back one day. I understand that if you want they will provide dinner on request, which is suppose to be really nice too. Btw, I am all about the pictures 🙂

    • melbtravel says:

The best bit they have a cellar right near the pool that does an honest policy. It was great coming back and having drink while enjoying the pool 🙂 Let me know if you ever head over that way and I will be happy to help with any tips 🙂

This is indeed a lovely place with great scenery. It oozes typical Tuscan charm. If you get all this and the cost is also reasonable, I would consider it a real steal and value for your money.

    • melbtravel says:

Thanks for your comment Vyjay, I concur. I was in Tuscany for a wedding and everyone was staying central in a hotel that was costing 110 euro’s with a tiny pool. When everyone found out where we were staying that wanted to change hotels.

  5. June says:

This place looks like it offers the perfect balance of being close to major Tuscany attractions but secluded enough to relax and soak up the wonderful views. Relax, dip in pool, enjoy some wine and repeat! (whilst listening to Andrea of course)…ahh…perfect.

    • melbtravel says:

I concur June and that is a really great way of putting it. I hope to go back and explore a little more, as I was there for a wedding at the time.

  6. Chloe says:

Wow this place looks sooooo dreamy! I’ve been desperate to go to Tuscany for the food and now it looks like I’ve found the perfect place to stay. Can’t wait to jump in that pool!

    • melbtravel says:

Don’t forget the wine too 🙂 Definitely let me know when you go and I will be happy to share my tips with you.

  7. Annika says:

Looks lovely, ever since a friend’s wedding there last year I have such a longing to go back to Tuscany. How many rooms total does the villa have? Do you ever have to share with others like a hotel? How far is it to get to dinner or rather to town?

    • melbtravel says:

I was there for a wedding also but everyone was staying in the town. So glad we didn’t as they paid a lot more than us and didn’t have a pool like the one we had. I am not sure how many rooms that they had but I know that they had a one and two bed apartment. I stayed in one of the rooms and I think there was a couple of them as well. You have your own bathroom so you don’t have to share and breakfast is served on a big table overlooking the area which everyone sits at. The place can also provides dinner for you if requested. I hope that helps? Let me know if you need anything else.

Wonderful place! I will never be tired visiting Italy. Tuscany is one of my favorite place among the other beautiful places in Italy. Excited to visit again. Thanks for sharing.

  9. Only By Land says:

Being in Tuscany with Andrea Bocelli playing sounds perfect, the views are amazing too and I’d imagine the air is clean and fresh! I think I’d try turning the free WiFi off for a while to enjoy the views and peace and quiet a little more. This place sounds great for a romantic getaway and being a budget / midrange accommodation is perfect too.

    • melbtravel says:

I love Andrea Bocelli and I went and saw him when he was in London. I don’t blame you turning you off your wifi to enjoy everything my friend. Have an amazing time and I am envious
